Waiting on advice to post pics quicker....

Hi all...I am in the process of finding out how to post pics faster. The 3 Halloween pics took 30 minutes to post so you can see why it is taking me a long time to get more on.

Update: things here are just flying by. Charlee is now 8 months old!!! Too hard to fathom!!

Kevin, Charlee and I went to Allentown PA to spend Thanksgiving with Brent and Suzanne....Kevin's step son. We had a blast. We drove up the weekend before and spent Friday night with Mom, went to Atlanta for brunch with all my girlfriends on Saturday morning then made it to Matt and Leah's in Raleigh, NC for the night. We loved staying with them and seeing the newest little family to be!!! Leah looks great and her nursery is shaping up to be just adorable. Charlee sends a shout out for letting her try out Lilly's crib! You guys are the best!! After visiting with them for the morning...we headed out for PA...which we made it there that evening.
We had a great time, stayed for the week and spent turkey day with them. We headed home the day after and made it home on Sunday. We arrived home to Kevin's Mom and stepdad...Lois and Dean. They came all the way from Arizona to keep Charlee for the next two weeks. Grandma is loving every minute and crashing in the bed every night!!!! Last Monday we took Charlee to the urologist in Jax for her 3 month checkup and ultrasound. She still has the same amount of fluid on her left kidney....no less and no worse! We are still just watching it every 3 months. Oh and she weighed in at a whopping 21.6 lbs....our little chunker!.
On a bragging note....she is such a good baby and we have it great...she still sleeps through the night and really isn;t that fussy. We are enjoying all the new stuff she is doing...clapping her hands, gabbering all the time, saying Da Da, getting soaked everytime we give her a bath, learning to drink from a sippy cup...not very often, and occasionally holding her bottle!!! She is still not turning over or crawling.....slow start but I am sure when she starts I wll be wishing she would stop! No teeth yet, but chewing any and everything!!! BUT, she is in for a rude awaking....she starts 'school'...not daycare on Monday the 14th. We are starting her at the Village Academy and they really start from day one teaching....mobility, eating, and even sign language. Yes, Kevin and I have some learnin' to do!!!! Sorry this has been so long....now I am going to try posting some pics.....thanks to Audrey for teaching me how!!!!

6 month Dr's appt

Wow....it's hard to believe that Charlee is 6 months old!! She is growing and doing all kinds of fun things! She is talking constantly, loves to be outside, loves to take walks in the stroller, loves to lay naked on the blanket in the living room, and she is grabbing everything. She is just starting this week sitting up on her own without falling over....to much!! Just exciting times right now. She had her 6 mth Dr's appt yesterday and she weighs 18.11 and is 26 inches long. We were getting a little concerned about her weight b/c everyone that sees her says "she doesn't miss many meals". But her pediatrician says she is right on track. She is between the 50th and 90th percentile on everything!! The doc also said she is advanced in her gross motor skills! Anyway, we are just having a blast seeing all her changes and look forward to the many more to come!!! :)

Charlee went to the doc for her 4 month appt. She is growing!! She weighs 15.7 and is 24 inches long. Doc says she looks great!! New things she is doing.....she smiles alot and talks alot!! She is starting to blow bubbles and make all kinds of cute noises with her mouth. We are having soooo much fun with her!! She goes to the beach with us, but she sleeps all of the time. We are taking our first big trip with her in about 2 weeks. She is going to meet her Arizona family on the 19th. Should be a fun new experience flying with a 4 month old!!

Charlee went for her 2 month appt on June 5th. She weighed 11lb 7 oz and was 21 inches long! She is our little chunker.....look out Avie.....you just might have some competition coming!!!
Things around here are just flying by. Charlee is 10 weeks old today!! She is starting to smile big at the silly things we do to entertain her. Needless to say, she has us trained!! Seriously, we are enjoying every moment and just can't believe we didn't do it sooner!!
Many friends and family have come to visit us...pics to be posted soon...I promise! Thanks for all the visits!
Kevin is doing good. Just working away! Got to save for college now!!
I started back to work this week. Charlee is going to work with me for now. We are just going to see how it goes and if it doesn't...then we will adjust our lives....again!
I still have multiple kidney stones (that I keep passing on a reugular basis) in both kidneys. I have to wait until August for the doc to try to remove the too big to pass stones in both kidneys.
Charlee has her next ultrasound appt for her fluid on the kidney in August also. If it shows no more fluid they will discharge her. So please keep up the prayers for her.

We had professional phots taken and these are just a sample.....there were 122 pics to choose from!!!!!

Happy Birthday to Avie!!!

First of all, a BIG Happy Birthday wish to Avie, who turned 1 year old on Saturday!!!!!
Time really does fly by!!
It is hard to believe that Charlee will be 4 weeks old tomorrow. We have been very, very busy here! As any parent knows (remember those first weeks home)!!! Just getting adjusted to new baby life, no sleep and learning how to cope with it all is enough. I have new respect for all the Moms and Dads out there that I know!
About Charlee, she is starting to stay awake more now. She is trying to make sounds other than just crying now. She is starting to get good muscles in her neck and can hold it up for periods of time. She passed her first doctors appt with flying colors...they all said she was beautiful and perfect...but we already knew that!! We went to Jax for the pediatric urologist appt. They will follow the fluid level on her kidney every 3 months with a ultrasound. And they are going to do a bladder scan on May 18th to make sure the cause of the fluid is not reflux. If it is reflux, she will have to go on antibiotics indefinitely and possibly have more treatments at a later date. Please pray that the fluid level disappears and no further treatment is needed! She also has a clogged/blocked tear duct that causes her left eye to accumulate gunk. We tried antibiotic ointment...didn't work. And we have been massaging the tear ducts several times daily. Hopefully this will also clear up soon! Nabu and Jami have settled into having Charlee here....they are actually very protective and check on her frequently. Charlee is already used to their barking, but now they are asked to take it outside!!! Anyway, I am still passing kidney stones! Just passed a big jagged one today! I had a CT scan the other day that showed multiple non-obstructing stones in both kidneys....so I guess my fun is not over yet! I do have a urologist appt for me on May 7th to see if they can help stop the madness!!! And finally to Daddy.....Kevin is doing great. He is a fabulous Dad....but those that know him well had no doubts about that! Charlee already has him wrapped around her little finger. And she is going to be a Daddy's girl. She loves for him to hold her and rock her. He also is great at changing diapers, getting up in the night with her, giving her baths, dressing her and I am blessed to have such a wonderful hubby!

Scheduled delivery!!

Well, unless I go into labor on my own this week, Charlee will be here on March 30th....Kevin's b-day!!! They have set me up to be induced next Monday. We go into the hospital on Sunday night for cervidil (to thin out my cervix) and then Monday morning they will start the pitocin to put me in labor....then can I say I will be calling for the epidural!!!!!! So the count down is now on!!!!

Mom and Dad came last week on Wednesday night. Mom went to the Jax docs with me on Thursday for the ultrasound...even though it is hard to see everything unless you know what to look for. They almost sent me to deliver on that day b/c my BP was up a little, but the labs and 24 hour urine test came back normal. So all is ok. Kevin and Dad worked all weekend finishing up putting down our new wood floors. Looks GREAT!!! and can't thank Dad enough for all his help! Mom spent the weekend exercising me...trying to bring on labor....and she was nesting here at the house. I thought it was supposed to be me who should be nesting, but anyway the guest room and Charlee's room are now ready to go....thanks a million Mom!!

Happy St Patty's Day to all!!!

Since we are an Irish family...I wanted to wish everyone a Happy St Pat's day! Here's a pinch for you!!

We went to the doctor on Monday....still no news. Just waiting and waiting!

Donald, Audrey, Amelia and Avie came for a visit last weekend. We had a great time!!. Audrey got some pics, but left her camera here so we will have to wait for any pics. Can I just say that Avie loved Jami and Jami loved Avie. We just figured it is b/c they are both always looking for something to eat!!

Looking forward to Mom and Dad's visit to come this weekend!!

Just want to make a correction from the last count of kidney stones, it was 9 not 6!!

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

Hopefully you can make out this ultrasound pic. It is of Charlee looking at us. Look at those fat cheeks!!!
This is the cake that the girls from work gave me when they had a shower for me!

MD appt on Monday March 9th

Despite my being ready to birth this little chunky monkey....she is not ready! Apparently, she is still high in the canal and my cervix hasn't thinned at all! My non-stress tests that are done 2x every week are normal. The weekly ultrasounds are the same...no big changes. Maybe she is just holding out to share a birthday with her daddy!! (March 30)
On another note, this past weekend, I birthed another 6 kidney stones!! FUN!! I think I am finished hoping that these will be the last ones.....I am just waiting till more come now!! Oh well!

Friday MD appt

Well, I went to the Jax OB Doc on Friday for another ultrasound. First, I saw a different Doc than I had seen the 2 times previously and this one is GREAT! He is like a big teddy bear and gave me a hug at the end of the appt.
Now to Charlee.....the fluid level on her kidney has gone up alittle. It is now 1.2 (12mm). Not a big concern, still just need to get her checked out and a kidney ultrasound within 48 hours of her birth. The Doc said that there is a 30% chance in babies with a fluid level above 7mm that they will need surgery to correct it. We will just have to wait and pray!
We saw her practicing her breathing, which the ultrasound tech said is just her getting ready to come on out to meet us. Also, she has long feet......maybe taking after her Granna?? She has a big belly, which is probably due to my gestational diabetes. They put me on a pill every day to keep the numbers down. The tech got a great picture of her looking right at us....can you say very fat cheeks. It also looks like she may have hair. She weighed in at 6.2 lbs, so I dont think we will go all the way to the April 5th due date....or who knows what her weight will be!!!
Anyway, we now go to my Docs here in St Augusitne every Monday for a Non-stress test and a Doc vist and we go to Jax every Thursday for a Non-stress test, ultrasound and Doc visit. At least this way we can watch how much weight she is gaining every week!!!

Saturday, February 21, 2009

Well, I had yet another kidney stone on Monday. With pain and nausea meds I was able to pass it late that afternoon. Fingers crossed that is the last one!!

The girls at my work gave me a baby shower on last
Tuesday....again soooo many gifts! We are truely blessed! Mom surprised me by coming to that shower. And come to find out...Dad also came and he was busy putting the crib together that we are borrowing from Amy. So, I can now say the room is ready for Charlee (pics to come soon).

Mom and Dad stayed until Friday morning just spoiling me and Kevin! Could not have asked for more loving and caring parents!!! Thank You!!!
